FAQ’s
• What is the Calves Academy?
Toombul cricket club wants to provide young players showing early potential the opportunity to train and gain further skills, so they are ready when introduced to the Development and Lord Taverners trials in the upcoming years.
• Is there an age limit?
We are providing this opportunity this year for young players boys and girls that were born between 2009 and 2012
• Do I have to play at Toombul to be selected?
No, we encourage players from all junior clubs to come and enjoy this unique experience. The intent behind this program is that the players can take the skills learnt back to their own club or school and use them in training and games.
• What does the academy training schedule entail?
Currently we are offering a 7-day set fortnightly training schedule over a few months with the hope to have a game at the end of the program.
• Are the coaches accredited?
The current head coach holds a level 2 coaching certificate and will be assisted with other accredited coaches throughout the training sessions.
• Is there a cost involved?
Yes, there will be a fee involved that is still under negotiation, the fee will include all coaching sessions, official training shirt and customised back pack.
